THE LONDON SPEAKER BUREAU IN COLLABORATION WITH THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

The World Economic Forum organises the annual meeting in Davos every year. Over 2,250 leaders from more than 26 countries, along with over 20 heads of state or government, 70 cabinet ministers, 50 NGO heads, cultural, religious and union leaders focus on the challenges facing the world. Experts from the World Economic Forum, such as GED DAVIS, RICHARD SAMANS, ANDRE SCHNEIDER and THIERRY MALLERET share their extensive experience of global business, politics and economics. The London Speaker Bureau is pleased to announce a Special Collaboration with the World Economic Forum, enabling these experts to share their views with our clients.

NEW FROM OUR SPEAKERS

RICHARD DUVALL, the creator of Egg.com has launched a revolutionary new venture, called Zopa. Zopa is an online exchange that allows borrowers and lenders to deal with each other on terms of their own choosing via the internet.
It has been described as the Ebay for financial services. By cutting out traditional bank overheads, Zopa aims to be able to offer much better rates to borrowers and lenders. Richard is a captivating speaker on the consumer of the future, and how business should respond. Zopa is the result of his belief that consumers will demand much more personalised services that match their particular requirements and the successful companies will be those that can meet these demands.

Motivational speaker KEN HAMES has just returned from Nicaragua, having filmed a remarkable expedition for BBC TV.

Ken led a group of 12 disabled people (including one person in a wheelchair) through some of the harshest terrain on earth, from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast on a trek which lasted three weeks. It took the group through uncharted jungle, swamps, lakes and over volcanoes. The programme, which will show Ken’s leadership and teambuilding skills being put to the ultimate test, is called Beyond Boundaries, and is currently scheduled to be broadcast as four one-hour programmes in the autumn.

Continuing the WEF theme, SAHAR HASHEMI has been chosen as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Only 278 “extraordinary leaders under 40 who are clearly exceptional on a global level” have been chosen from 8000 candidates by a judging panel which includes the CEOs of Yahoo, Pearson, NBC, and Reuters.

NEW SPEAKERS

DOUG RICHARD recently appeared in the BBC2 TV series “Dragon’s Den”. By the final episode of the first season, 2.3 million viewers tuned in to watch entrepreneurs attempting to convince the Venture Capital “Dragons” to invest in their businesses. A second series of the programme is planned. Doug has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, technology visionary and creator of businesses both in the US and Europe and so was well qualified to assess the viability of the business plans presented.

ANNE LISE KJAER was described by The Times as a “Creator of Inspirational Futures”. Her unique world vision was defined by Matthew Temple in the Financial Times thus: ‘as fertile as Dali’s only she creates social prototypes…based on nascent trends.’ But Kjaer’s real talent is to create clarity out of the many and complex micro trends that threaten to overwhelm and confuse us. By defining future consumers, she breathes life and inspiration into the serious business of marketing into the 21st century.

JIM LAWLESS is one of the few motivational speakers who puts his money where his mouth is. Challenged by a friend, Jim trained to become a jockey, having never sat on a horse before! His presentations are motivating and inspiring and his audiences are able to take away and use practical tools that will enhance performance. Jim himself is no stranger to the challenges and rewards of change: in fact he delights in studying and speaking about how to reach your personal or team potential.
