Ola Ahlvarsson

Ola Ahlvarsson, CEO, and co-founder of Result and co-founder and former Vice President of International Expansion for Boxman.

Ola has a background as a successful entrepreneur working mainly with early start-ups. He co-founded several companies within new media including Boxman), Sportus (Europe's largest sport retail site) as well as several non-IT related ventures.

Ola is now the CEO of Result.com, a network founded in June 1999 of international new media experts helping ventures move success from country to country. To date, Result has been involved in approximately 30 launches across Europe. Since June 1999, Result has grown to its current size of about 90 employees in 10 countries. Result is continuing its rapid expansion with offices in New York and Brazil and is aiming to expand in the USA, Latin America and Asia.

Ola was named in the "Top ten leading European internet entrepreneurs 1999" by the Wall Street Journal, in a similar list in January 2000 by Business Week (front cover) and in May 2000 by the Financial Times. Ola was invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos where he was elected "Global Leader of Tommorow". Ola is also an advisor to the US Foreign Policy Association and is a frequent speaker at international e-commerce conferences including the "E-commerce standard", the "Global Internet Summit" and the "European Online Publishing Conference". Ola is a board member of Dressmart, Boxman, Autoo and others. Although resident in Stockholm, Ola spends most of his time living in airplanes and hotels.

Ola firmly believes that e-business in Europe will see newer heights especially when it starts to focus on its own markets. He says "Success in the digital economy is about execution! It's not just about technology, it's not just about ideas, it's about people". "It is key to have the right strategy, choose the right people and focus on being an industry leader in your sector rather than an Internet company". "Thinking global but acting local is not good enough, thinking global while BEING local is what the future winners will have in common" Ola says. "The reason why e-commerce is not picking up speed in many territories is simple! Most sites have strategies and execution that are not good enough...."

Ola holds an MBA from the University of Stockholm, has a black belt in Karate and a World Championship gold medal in kickboxing. He speaks seven languages.
